Malnutrition problem in our society affects the growth of our nation.
Gawad Pinoy Consumers’ Welfare Advocacy Council and Junior Chamber International (JCI) Quezon City Capitol in partnership with Luzon WATCH and Transformaers Coop are joining forces to create a program to help eradicate poverty, hunger and malnutrition.
In line with this they are organizing the 1st Conference of Filipino Bakers for Corporate Social Responsibility, with the theme: “BREAD – Bakers Response on Economic Advancement and Development”, to be held on December 3, 2016, 1:30 p.m., at the SWEET LAND Kitchen Central, #65 Roosevelt Avenue, Brgy. Sta Cruz, Quezon City (beside PMI College). Officials from concerned government agencies will join, including private sector representatives from non-government agencies.
Part of the agenda is the proposed national program “Panaderia Eskwela” (Adopt-A-Campus Bakeshop) and “Panaderia ng Bayan” (Adopt-A-Community Bakeshop), a “War Against Hunger & Malnutrition” Program to be jointly implemented by both public and private sectors. Thus, it is under this premise that we are cordially reaching out to you to join us in this noble endeavor which we hope your company would adopt as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project or program. Among the government agencies that has already expressed their commitment in this partnership are the Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Agriculture (DA), the Department of Interior & Local Government (DILG), Technology & Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and the local government of Quezon City thru its Sikap Buhay Office. The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) and PAGCOR has likewise expressed their willingness to support the program.
